Beyond Trends: Understanding Color

Color theory has completely changed how I shop. Before this class, I would buy things just because they were trendy. Now I think about color harmony and temperature. I’ve realized I gravitate toward neutrals like black, beige, and denim because they create unity and are easy to style. When I add a pop of color, like red or bright blue, it creates emphasis in the outfit. This is helpful for social media because emphasis draws attention in photos. I also notice how lighting changes color tone, especially when I shoot content indoors versus outside. Understanding warm and cool tones makes my outfits and photos look more cohesive.
